Whether the Ducati V21L needs that much cooling, or if the what appears to be the radiator is just a part of the battery housing remains to be seen. It’s too early to tell if the V21L will pose any marked performance advantage over Energica’s bike, but it certainly looks like it belongs at the track. Many electric bikes are almost visually identical to their gas-powered counterparts — save, of course, for the lack of an engine and exhaust pipes. But on a racing bike with fairings covering a sizable portion of the profile, you don’t get to see in quite as much, and the differences are harder to suss out. That attitude appeared to disappear overnight after the announcement, and we quickly saw Ducati push its V21L electric motorcycle prototype onto the track for some test laps. The V21L is quick off the line, too. According to Ducati, the zero-emissions ride reached a top speed of 171 mph during recent testing at a circuit in Mugello. For comparisonrsquos sake, the Energica Evo Corsa currently used in MotoE can hit 160 mph at full tilt.
