Grand Seiko pairs these with black crocodile straps, but I think these watches scream for a beautiful casual calfskin strap. If the annual limited edition releases with a color change on the dial aren't your speed, perhaps this is.

The tourbillon – with its skeletonized bridges – takes a prominent position at six o'clock just below the hands.The Antarctique Rattrapante is an impressive watch, from an impressive independent brand that shows no signs of slowing down. While part of me prefers the thoughtful architecture and aesthetic of the brand's integrated high-beat chronograph, the still-hard-for-me-to-pronounce Faubourg de Cracovie, it's refreshing to see Czapek experiment – rather successfully – in different arenas.
