I had it fully serviced and have taken it diving everywhere from the Maldives to the Florida Keys to the Caribbean. His watch-industry legacy continues today through the success of A. Lange & Söhne, IWC, and Jaeger-LeCoultre, but it's hard not to wonder what sort of impact Blümlein might have had on the watch industry over the past two decades if he was still with us.Additionally, the top of each of the caliber PF361's bridges are satin-finished, while the jewel sinks, screw heads, and wheel leaves are individually mirror-polished. And finally, despite it being difficult to see (look above the top-left column wheel in the above image), I also wanted to point out a subtle engraving on the mainspring barrel that features a repeating pattern shaped like teardrop lugs – one of Parmigiani's most recognizable aesthetic attributes.With a huge amount of contrast between the greys of the bezel and the deep black of the dial, the bezel can feel very ghosty. In a darker space, the Pelagos 39 looks more like a black Pelagos. In bright light, it hits quite differently. I really like the way that the ceramic bezel insert interacts with light, but it doesn't have the clarity or severity of the matte bezel common to the standard Pelagos models.
