About to tile a bathroom floor and I'm trying to get my toilet flange height right. I have not started thinseting the tile yet.

Resting on the tile, the toilet flange is 1/2" above the tile. With the rubber style wax ring i'm 11/16" above the tile floor. That's going to make a toilet rock and I'll have to shim under the toilet. Definitely don't want to shim it.

If i cut the tile to let the toilet flange drop to flush with the tile, I'll be 3/16" above the tile with the rubber style wax ring. Which I believe is about perfect.

Does that sound right?

Hmm, I think it would be best to use a wax ring. The most important thing is that the toilet normally falls into place. I really understand your situation, friend. Repair is the most hated state of life. Sometimes it just seems like it will never end. One day my wife ordered a new bidet on zabranio.com without telling me. As a result, this bidet did not fit into our bathtub. We were going to do repairs anyway, but it dragged on for a year. It's so uncomfortable to live in such conditions. I wish you success and hope that you will cope with everything. You will definitely need luck and patience.
