Well, I searched a little and did not see a thread for downhill skiing. He came out of it with 99-00. I have a pair of double line spikes 1260~02 that I have never felt comfortable on. I preferred carving on a clean edge and heavy skating with a heavy weight in front, and the Twins need an almost rear approach.

I've been so far away from the industry for almost 20 years and I'm considering trying to get back into it. I live next door to a small resort south of Buffalo, where I grew up, and I buy equipment. I prefer not to ruin myself on an outfit that I may not like, and I see that things have changed a lot since I first left New York. CL didn't help too much and I'm not on FB for the market, so I guess sharing skis could be of use to me in a few weeks. I started browsing the ski forums and couldn't find the information I was looking for in the topic feed. Thanks

I taught, operated elevators, etc. and I studied in high school 100 days a year. I try to keep up with modern technology. Thanks for the heads up at the sports forum, I didn't even know he was there.

You need the "front side" of alpine skiing, not what everyone wants here in the west. You need, imho, a frustrated GS racing ski that will keep the edge when it gets difficult - and the snow in New York is getting very heavy. I grew up skiing at West Mountain (7 miles drive) and moved to Gore (45 miles drive) when my friends and I got my driver's license. I have spent many days on the blue model and the only thing that will stop you from turning is the race ski or the upset version of the race ski. If you were going to spend the winter in Colorado or Utah... a completely different story. Just my $0.02 and probably worth less than what you paid for it

good topic! I also love skiing, I just like the feeling I get when I do it: pure happiness. Life is difficult, but skiing and mountains are not. We often went skiing with friends. Last year we found a good store with equipment for skiing https://www.everest.com/join-caliber .Now we are fully prepared for the season
