Power Up Gaming provides the best retro video games, consoles, accessories, and more. We accomplish this by offering a wide selection of high-quality items at affordable prices. There is a very good chance that we will have the item you need, and you will be amazed at the quality and price!

On August 1st, 2012, Power Up Gaming opened its doors in Barrie, Ontario with a very small amount of inventory. Our store has grown to include over $1,000,000 in inventory since then! We moved into a store a few doors down from our original store in 2017, which is DOUBLE the size, and we are still bursting at the seams with new merchandise!

In 2013, we opened our online store, which had a separate inventory system from our retail store and a lot of aches and pains. When we first started out, this was ideal, but we wanted to provide our customers with the very best, so we have now re-launched it as you see it now. Everything in our store is captured LIVE on our new website. We even let you shop from home and pick up your order without ever having to visit our shelves!

Returns and shipping

On December 12th, we're moving to a new shipping model where we'll offer shipping discounts beginning at $75 on every order!

Based on the order subtotals, we will lower the actual shipping rates provided by Canada Post at our contracted rates. You will receive lower shipping rates the more you spend with us. According to your order totals, you will receive the following shipping discounts. We will offer these discounts to all our Canadian and American customers up to a maximum of $30is applies to both Expedited and Xpresspost options.

We implemented these changes to save our customers money while also improving our costing model for shipping with the rising cost of fuel surcharges. As a result, we believe that these changes are in line with or more aggressive than what most of our competitors are offering.

Policy on shipping

Our warehouse is located in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, where all of our products are shipped from. The shipping process will be completed within two business days. Orders are shipped Monday through Saturday, Canadian holidays excluded.

The delivery time for orders within Canada is approximately 3 to 10 business days. The delivery time for priority shipments varies by location, but it is usually between two and seven days.

The delivery time for orders to the USA is approximately 5 to 15 business days. The delivery time for priority shipments depends on your location.

Orders cannot be guaranteed to arrive on time. We are only providing you with an estimate of shipping and transit times.

Games for the original Gameboy (non-see-through)

All games will work on the Original Gameboy, Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, and Gameboy Advance SP.

See-through cases for Gameboy Color games

They don't have the notch on the top right of the cartridge and won't work on the Original Gameboy or Gameboy Pocket, but will work on all the other systems. For example, there is the "Pokemon Special Pikachu Edition" game that works on the original Gameboy color system, but has been enhanced for better color.

Games for the Gameboy Advance

These games are compatible with the Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP, Gameboy Micro, DS Original, and DS Lite. As they do not have a slot, they cannot be inserted into DSi or 3DS systems.
