My family is currently moving to Michigan for my husband's job. He is an engineer, and my education is related to the development of young people. I have mostly worked with non-profit organizations, such as the boys and girls club and the YMCA, to create community engagement programs for children. Your two daughters attend kindergarten in Pittsburgh. After looking at the service providers in the place we are moving to, we found that the programs are far behind what our girls are used to, which prompted me to start investigating by running my own program. I firmly believe that by teaching young children to use their thinking skills and ask questions, we are shaping a more inquisitive generation. I'm thinking of starting my own home-based daycare and then moving to the center model if it's successful. I would appreciate any advice anyone is willing to offer. I have just started working with my mother, a former kindergarten teacher, to develop a curriculum.
I like your idea, so I think you should take it seriously.Children need to develop at an early age to become curious and intelligent, so kindergartens need a special curriculum. As far as I know, some kindergartens are really behind in the curriculum, which slows down the development of children. I have heard about this problem before, because I work in Community Engagement in which is engaged in improving the social structure of society.
