Hi All,

I need some thoughts/opinion regarding child development. We have a 13 month-old son. He's a great and healthy baby but my wife started getting worried lately about his development, based on infamous comparison with other kids his age.

This is his current behaviour:

Initiates eye contact, smiles, interacts with others and impersonates them

Very active and adores to explore surroundings, extremely curious, need to take a look at everything

Talking is mostly babbling, knows how to say YES/NO, mommy and daddy, but doesn't yet use it to address directly.

Uses body language to indicate disliking/liking

Cannot walk yet but able to move around and interact with objects if holding to something. He's also trying lately to stand on his own by moving his hands away from nearby objects. He's extremely fast when it comes to crawling though.

Can search toys and fetch toys when asked

Follows us around constantly

Has very good eating habits, not picky, can eat on his own, not with cutlery though :)

What's worrisome (not to me though):

Verbal aspect doesn't go beyond YES/NO, babbling and Mommy/Daddy

Doesn't point at objects or interacting with others by doing the same

Doesn't walk yet

Not very cuddly, doesn't seek too much attention from (although he's always there when somebody is eating something)

Obsessed opening/closing doors

Just looking for some opinions and experiences from people who have children of the same age.
