This problem could occur due to a few reasons such as usage of wrong email or password, using the wrong server or port, disabled IMAP on your account, and more. You can fix Gmail IMAP authentication failed by signing into your account using your correct credentials and click the Settings icon. Click on it to open Account security and then locate the two-factor verification segment. Turn off the two step authentication feature on your account to resolve the issue at hand.
