A regular TRV only allows a stay of 6 months. Attempts to have stays back-to-back will result in being denied entry and cancellation of the visa. You pretty much have to spend more time out of Canada than in. The supervisor, on the other hand, allows a stay of 2 years without interruption. It is issued to parents of Canadian residents so that they may spend time with their children. In particular, the super visa allows parents of recently immigrated people to assist in getting established in Canada, assist with the childbirth of their grandchildren or participate in other significant life events of their children.
