What do you mean by “big data companies”?

Do you mean companies that provide big data products/software/services? If so they don’t have “big data”, their customers do and they keep it to themselves.

Do you mean companies that use big data products/software/services? If so they obtain the data from their own products, software, or devices. They will have their own policies about data collection.
