When it comes time to harvest, make sure to remove the plants from the growing medium and use a sharp knife to cut the roots to remove them from the medium. Once the roots are removed, use a colander to strain out any of the remaining nutrients that may be in the growing medium. Finally, wash your plants and dry them off thoroughly before hanging or bagging for storage.
