Good morning Everyone
One day again...my a warning... new in this.
However, I have a 1991 model Beneteau M38, for which I have undergone a major upgrade. I would need to get the details for you from my electrician, but my question to him was how to install the air conditioner while anchoring/mooring when our evenings in Florida are quiet, humid, and we don't have insects and mosquitoes (I blunted that by saying I wanted my wife to be comfortable...).
His answer: Generator.
My question is: Can we do this with batteries instead? I don't want generator noise or gasoline flammability issues.
Answer: Yes, it can run on a reliable battery.
So, I/we replaced the water tank of the front/rear berth with 10 lead-acid golf batteries with a deep cycle. I also have wind and sun. Needed a new alternator for my Yanmar 3GM30F, smart relays, etc. This system is separated and isolated from 4 home and 1 starter battery. Anyway... after everything has been done, I can run a 12,000 BTU block for 8 hours.
Pretty good article. I just stumbled across your blog and enjoyed reading your blog posts. I am looking for new articles to get more valuable information. Big thanks for this. among us
You can buy an electric generator. Batteries are not a quite good idea cause they can lick, and they don't work a lot of time, they are heavy and you always should recharge them. Btw, you can buy a generator and batteries to recharge them by generators if smart happens. Minus is that this system would weight a lot, but that would be reliable. If you worry about gas generator, you can take diesel one, it would be even cheaper. There's no definite answer, maybe you should ask some aircon specialists. I think they can answer you
