Hi! I had experience when I Compare PoE Extenders from EnableIT, and I can share that the problems can be related to both the cable and the load on the network itself. In fact, everything depends on several factors: the quality of the cable, the type of devices used, and the operating conditions. Regarding the cable - Cat5e is basically suitable for transmission over a distance of up to 100 meters, but there is an important point: if the camera or other PoE device consumes more power or if there are several connected devices on the line, this can create additional signal losses. PoE extenders transmit not only data, but also power, and the further the device is, the more voltage is lost. This is especially true if several devices are operating on one power source. If you have high-resolution cameras or high-power consumption cameras, such as 4K cameras or heated devices, they may require more power than standard PoE can stably transmit over a long distance. So if you experience loss of quality or lag at maximum range, it may be due to insufficient power to maintain a stable connection.
