This Is The Intermediate Guide In Item Upgrades
Path of Exile Item Upgrades
The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be improved by upgrading their performance. They can provide extra damage, AD or even affixes.
Rare-grade equipment is usually superior to modernized Common or Magic gear because of their high requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a kind of upgrade that can be used on armor and weapon items. They improve the stats of the item they are connected to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of games and are available from Blacksmiths on bonfires. They can also be salvaged using an expert or higher salvage kits to retrieve upgrade components from other items.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it is able to take on. The ability to absorb damage of a piece armor will increase as it is upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. It's important to remember that this will increase the weight of the armor, which means it must be heavier.
There are a few different kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game and they all have distinct effects. Certain upgrades grant armor an extra amount of health points while others make it lighter and more powerful. The name of the armor upgrade will indicate the kind of upgrade an item can receive, as shown below.
Certain upgrades require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, which are identified by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Some upgrades also require a fee to use, which is indicated by the "Charges" entry in the table below. These charges are either continuously updated or never expire depending on the upgrade.
Iron Ore is the cheapest method to upgrade your armor. You can locate it by exploring and looting small treasure chests. Titanium is more expensive but is readily available at the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied to armor pieces that are of high-level. These upgrades can provide a significant improvements in stats and are a worthwhile investment, particularly for one-handed weapons.
A piece of armor upgraded to the highest upgrade level will dramatically increase its defense values but the wearer must be aware that increasing its weight can drastically decrease its agility and speed. Therefore, it is generally not recommended to upgrade armor pieces that are higher than +9 because the increase in defense is generally not worth the weight and power cost of the upgrades needed.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades let players increase the effectiveness of specific aspects of an weapon. For instance an upgrade can enhance the damage caused by shotgun shells or the accuracy of the sniper rifle. Some weapons have special enhancements to enhance their intrinsic capabilities. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and decreases the chance of overheating of the weapon) and Kinetic Coils (increases projectile acceleration for more damage).
Most upgrades for weapons require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade. These are obtained through either completing Side Quests, taking out a certain number of bosses or monsters, or from the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine.
To upgrade the weapon, equipment set piece or Whetblade you need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a specific amount of bars. The more bars needed to complete an upgrade the higher the level. If you have multiple upgrade materials the cost of upgrading will be lower.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the way you upgrade your equipment and weapon sets was a bit different. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a certain number of Bars. You could do this until you reach a maximum upgrade level for the weapon or equipment, after which upgrades would reset.
You can still do this, but the process is based on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're better off visiting stores and buying equipment with low upgrade levels but excellent base scores and stat distributions.
item upgrades will then be able to give you the most prestigious benefits and blessings.
To increase their level faster, many players prioritize upgrading their weapons. In addition to these, players should consider upgrading the weapons that are most popular with their squadmates to increase their power as well. Shepard, for example should upgrade his M92F in order to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will increase the effectiveness of the weapon when used with biotic specialists such as Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to improve a stat or provide secondary effects on weapons and armor. They can be created through an process known as jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gem and various chemicals at a table. The higher the level of the jewel is, the greater its secondary effect. These reagents can be gotten from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses around the world, or through collecting Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The Jeweler can enhance the quality of gemstones in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. The stat boosts will vary depending on the level the jewel is in when it's slotted into jewelry, weapons or equipment.
The Jeweler can craft all kinds of gems, with the exception of rare and legendary ones that you must be at a certain level to get. Jewels can be replaced by another jewel without destroying the original. You can only replace the jewel only once in a piece of equipment.
Utilizing more jewels in a movement will make it more smooth and is typically performed to enhance the aesthetics of the movement. In addition to enhancing performance, the jewels also create a surface that is harder than metal, so repeated friction from pivots doesn't damage them as easily.
In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades, the player can also acquire glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs give a slight boost in power and can be exchanged, however they are not guaranteed to appear as loot. Glyphs are upgradeable, like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold, and also a Scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components such as traits or aegis can't be swapped, and can only be found by using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging with Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage.
Trinkets
Trinkets can provide your hero with various small, but valuable benefits. They can be obtained in the starter areas as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, and through completing road interactions. They can be purchased from the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinkets a player is able to unlock is the cloak. It grants an unimportant but beneficial boost in speed of movement and the ability to escape. The player will then be able to acquire rings, amulets and necklaces, in a similar way as they did with weapons and armor. Each piece of gear comes with one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be utilized on any piece of equipment. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced, and can only be used with certain trinkets.
These trinkets can also grant buffs and skills that remain active even when the character is not in combat. This enables the hero to perform better when they are not active and may also help make up for a lack of a solid team or any slots in the talent tree that normally are filled with hero's ideal stats.
In general trinket upgrades should be a priority BiS (Best in Slot) items that you will not replace anytime soon. Also, consider items with desirable statistics that are less significant than the iLevel of the item that is to be upgraded. This is true especially if you are looking to upgrade multiple stats on an item. It is more beneficial to upgrade a single important stat than two less important ones.
Jungle players often upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red trinket at the start of the game. Top and mid players however, will choose either a pink or green ward, based on the game's matchup. These choices can affect a hero's ability to control the map.
Apart from the items listed above, players can also find other trinkets throughout the game in the form of trophies and awards. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones in the story. For example, completing the main quest for a chapter or defeating a boss. You can check them out by selecting the achievement from the reward section of the hero's menu.
